Hello. I am so glad you stopped by to check out this post. I’m Milcah (pronounced milk’ uh). While i’m not new to blogging, I decided that since I have 7 kids, I could probably offer a lot of advice to other parents and so I wanted to somewhat shift my focus. Some posts will be about my children and others may be about my thoughts on being a mom or even on issues going on in our world. I expect that sometimes things will be humorous and other times things will be more serious because hey, I got it like that.
Did I mention I have 7 kids? Well they’re mostly boys. All of them except for 1 to be exact! I have a teenager and I have a going-on 10 month old. Everyone else falls in the middle. Birth, been there. I have breastfed each one. I am a stay at home mom and my children are home-schooled. I’ve experienced terrible twos many times over and i’m experiencing that thing teenagers go through. To sum things up, although my journey continues, i’ve covered a lot of ground. Each child’s personality and likes are so different and constantly evolving and I have the
challenge privilege of adapting to each one.
I have to point out that I am a Christian. Being a Christian doesn’t mean being perfect, and by no means am I. Matter of fact, I still have a lot to figure out. Although I don’t often express myself publicly, I am opinionated, and my thoughts based on my beliefs may surface here from time to time.
We reside in the Chicagoland area. This is where I grew up. I left when I met and married my husband of almost 15 years. He was in the Navy and although we met at the Great Lakes Naval Base, his duty station ended up being in California. He is originally from Lousiana, and thanks to him and his family down in southern Lousiana, i’ve been introduced to Creole cuisine and I absolutely love it! I try to include this style of food regularly so that he can at least have a taste of home, which we don’t get to visit that often, and just for everyone else’s enjoyment.
As you can see by the listing on my home page, I intend to cover a variety of topics. Some will show up more than others, but I hope you’ll stick around and enjoy my continuing journey.
